Having a rooted phone simply means having the power to run things as an administrator. I doubt you'd like the idea of using your PC as a limited account. There's nothing wrong with having root, it just so happens that banking apps are strict on security and makes it a pain in the ass.

There are workarounds. There are Xposed modules that can hide root from apps. Forgot what those modules are called but a quick Google search should return you some results.

Only problem is that Xposed (either v84 or v85 arm64) doesn't currently work on this device. It installs fine, but apps don't work and they don't pick up Xposed. The Framework shows that it's installed into System, but apps just don't recognize it.

Hi chaoscreater,

thanks for the axplanation, i know what rooting means,

the fact is that i've not rooted the phone nor flashed anything from RootJoy.

When I activate apps such as banking, TV provider app, a pop-uo window warns "device is rooted"

So my question, to make it clear is, IS UMI SUPER ROOTED FROM FACTORY?

Any mediator from UMI can give us a clear explanation?

thanks a lot

My device works with banking apps fine,  I have it stock from factory and nothing yells me the phone is rooted.  I have also done an OTA and it works fine.

Hi chaoscreater,

Umi Super it's not rooted.

I've just installed Halifax banking app - it works fine.

If would be rooted message will show up just after opening app.

Proably you've installed on of the apps like Titanium Backup, root explorer, busybox etc.

Some strictly non-root apps searching for them just to find out if phone is rooted.

Try to reinstall latest Rom

Hi teddyBeers,

I've just reintalled fresh rom from UMI website using SP Flash Tool, The ROM is clean, followed all the steps successfully. However i still habve the advise message that phone is rooted from my banking apps, and also i get the messaget that root acces is not proprely installed on this device whe i check with Root checker app... So i'm still in the same place as when i started this topic.

Looks like phone is rooted, but rooting apps say phone is not rooted. Totally confusing!

Rooted?

Hello Experts,

I tried to enroll my UMI Super with Microsoft Intune today; this is a Mobile Device Management suite to manage mobile devices. I was not able to enroll the UMI Super as Intune mentioned that my device was "Rooted" and as such could not be trusted.
I have not rooted the device myself and for verification completely factory reset it and tried to enroll it again, resulting in the same error.

After that I tried both an Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and a Sony Xperia Z5, which both where succesfull to enroll.

So I'm wondering what caused the enroll failure of the UMI Super, as root test reveals that the device is not rooted. Is perhaps the bootloader unlocked by factury default as this is also not allowed with Intune enrollment? And if yes, how can lock it again to get a succesfull enrollment?

Frank.

I have the same with enrolling the device with Microsoft Intune (an MDM (mobile device management) solution). It will not enroll as Microsoft Intune states that the UMI Super is "rooted".

Same problem with different APP; two Italian App as the Italian Post and a streaming service indicate that the system is root, and in the second case the app does not work

Hi guys, i am from Germany and i have the same. Get new phone install Nanking app and it says "phone is rooted" but the app works fine and i think that some Banking apps have a problem with that new phone but it is no problem and there is no root. Use apps and be cool.  :-)
