Problem GPS Lost

Please don't deny the fact that the GPS has problems. This is not a one-off issue... look around the forum... every other post is about the GPS accuracy.

Here is a screenshot which show the problem:



The blue dot shows the actual positions, which in this case is on a railway line! Once it is on the road, next second it is 20-30m off, then it comes closer and closer and jumps somehwere else again.

It has been reportad by many users that it is not accurate and and as such can not be used for navigation.

You would not believe how many times I have heard "újratervezés" (rerouting) from IGo...

And no.. testing this on motorways is not the best way. Go into small streets in the town and then try it!

With my old phone and in fact every other phone I had so far I was able to tell which room I am in the house. This barely shows the street - in fact currently shows me I am on the other street...

I believe that your issue is real. However, you can imagine that if somebody, then I know that which issue was reported by how many users. 5-10 users from ten thousands is not a big mass.
Of course, I tested the GPS in every circumstance, not only on motorways but the only place where I lost the GPS signal was the Budavár Tube. At all other places it was perfectly accurate, not just working. So your issue can't be a general problem of this smartphone.

I have 1 Samsung Grand Prime showing an accuracy of 25 meters, but it works perfectly for example with Waze or Google Maps.
In UMI Touch, accuracy is 4 meters and with the same applications, loses signal and jumps from street to street.

Same . there seems to be a lot of dud phones around with problems similar to me. Poor WiFi and 3g/4g.Ive already risked taking my phone apart to check some pins and screws. The umi Rome is having similar issues. They're already announcing there new phones they honesty don't care. Root joy was discontinued which was one of the selling points
  Lack of compass probably makes it worse  Knew I was taking a risk buying this and it's shame I've had so many problems,  otherwise could have been a great phone.  Think I'm going to buy from else where in the future.

I believe I've found a fix.
I've installed WiFi matic from the app store so far seems to stop the bouncing problems in the map when using waze
Give it a go.  Obviously not ideal but helps

I have also the same problem with the GPS. It gets only 6 to 9 satellites, and lost connectivity quickly. I cannot use any navigation tool (I have tryed google, waze, TomTom, etc). Although I bought my phone to TomTop, could it be possible to send it to UMI Spain to be repared? What can we do all the people with that problem?

You might have a such antenna connection issue: http://community.umidigi.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2696&page=3#pid19232
UMI Spain is not an official representatvie of UMI, so you have no reason to send them your phone. You should contact your reseller, whom you paid when buying your device. They are responsible for your warranty.

Hi,

I got the phone (UMI Touch) few weeks back and its fantastic.
The latest FOTA 20160423 solve few issue BUT since the update I have GPS issues.
While using waze / google navigator the GPS is not accurate, mismatching location. Only this morning I found myself navigating on a road while on the map I was in a field. More to that, after I switch in and out of airplane mode it got me back on the road but in a delay, causing me to almost miss turns.

This only started yesterday after I upgraded the ROM using the FOTA update.

Same issue on my umi touch. This note is only for confirm that we are not a few users with GPS problems.
