Dear users,

UMI Touch is sensitive to fake memory cards. eBay, Aliexpress and Wish are full of fake microSD cards. If you try to use a such fake memory card, you won't be able to format it or your phone won't even be able to recognize it.
Here are two microSD cards of the same kind. Both can be recognized by a PC as 64GB capacity memory cards but one of them is a fake card with just 8GB real capacity. That latter one cannot be used in UMI Touch.

As an addition, you should use an at least 16GB capacity memory card as internal storage. Using a smaller card not always but sometimes can cause issues.

Hi!
I have the same issue with memorycard as others.
I use SanDisk ultra 32 GB, but card is not read by phone.
Can you please spesify what memory cards are compatible with UMI Touch?

Regards Olav

Dear Olav,

Any kind of SDHC or SDXC type microSD card is usable. Sometimes a thin oxide layer might cover the connector pins, denying to establish a good connection.
I suggest you to process an insert and remove cycle with your memory card (while your phone is powered off) about five times to clear a possible oxide layer.

Bence

Avoid fake cards from eBay buy genuine from reputable dealers.
Anything from 16gb upwards.

Gearbest.com have a great micros card called the mixza 64gb from £9 works great.

Dear CostasNed,

Nobody is ignored here but I ask you to get through on this thread and review your case. If your phone has a specific issue, we can't offer a working solution but your device needs to be examined by a skilled repairman.

Bence

Hello,

I just received my phone. Have the same issues.
Tried 3 cards all the same, cannot format.
Once it worked as internal storage I installed my apps from google play. After reboot bootloop, phone not started again. After factory reset is started again, corrupt SD card, need to format. Once it worked as portable I tried to change to internal as I want it as internal and same, can't format. Now after reboot black screen... I pressed power button long and after reboot it works again.
I rebooted the phone just to be sure right afte it started ans show my SD card as internal storage and seems work.
Question is why it so unstable? Can I fix this? Or should I use it as portable?

#update1

It worked nice, so I installed my apps 10-20 in one run and reboot.
Just  after my last apps installed I rebooted again and now face the same bootloop like before idiot andorid logo than only status bar on black screen than android logo again...

#update2

After 14 restarts show corrupt SD card icon on left top of status bar, still black screen.
