I also had the same problem.
Once I've setup fingerprint security (and a secondary check e.g pin) up ...

For temporary fix to get access in to phone please perform factory data reset in recovery:
1. Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less.
2. When your phone is restarted, immediately release the power button but still hold the vol-up button until you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy and ‘No command’.
3. Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
4. Move to ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ and select it.
5. On the next screen move down to 'Yes...' and select it. Now your phone will be reset to its factory settings.
6. On the next screen press the power button again to reboot your phone

Thanks, I've done that.
Bit now the phone is stuck in a loop.
It powers off, goes to the UMIDIGI boot screen, and then powers off again.
This cycle seems to repeat forever!

Well I've finally managed to update to 20180830 but only to find the pin/pattern issue hasn't changed. I'm gonna give umidigi a couple if days to resolve, if not then the phone is going back.

I’m experienced the same issue. Stuck in the lock screen. It doesn’t accept either pin or security pattern.

The current issues I am seeing with this ROM;

1) The Pin/Pattern Lock Screen Issue
2) The Camera app Issue
3) Wifi/Bluetooth is very weak
4) Google Pay doesn't allow for contactless payment.

TWRP is not a ROM, I am not posting a ROM for this device. It's a touch driven recovery image. It needs to be flashed using SPFT, replacing the stock recovery.

Does any one know if the phone is usable if there's no lock PIN/Pattern/Fingerprint set ?

It works fine without the Security set.
