Everything I've read so far seems to indicate NFC only standard on the S2 Mercury Silver edition.. I think Umidigi want their Range Topper,  Flagship modelmto have this feature as it's USP, at least initially..

There is no mentioned on NFC based on UMIDIGI email update yesterday on S2 Pro specs. Only details mentioned are:

6GB/128GB
Octa core Mediatek Helio P25 (but no mentioned of either old or latest version)
16MP front camera
FHD+ display resolution 2160X1080
Android 7.0 (not 7.1)
and it also indicate the rest of the specs similar to S2 recently launched.

Sorry, but the S2 not getting Android 7 because of the Helio P20 seems unlikely. It's because there are existing UmiDigi Phones with the Helio P20 Prozessor running on Android 7, like the UmiPlus E. It should really work. Anyone has a really official link to the Page where they post that the first batch of S2 will be different (Only Umidigi Employers posting please)..

We really need an Umidigi statement here..

I will cancel my order, if they leave me hanging here..

Umi plus E not supporting Android 7 and contains exactly same SoC as Umidigi S2 which is P20 mt6757.
Unfortunately there will be no Android version upgrade due to lack of SoC support. Definitely there will be firmware updates provided to fix bugs and increase security (if patches will be available and needed).

Umi Z1 pro is with the same CPU MTK MT6757.

Big icons are for informing you in which band you are already connected. Small icons are only when you have mobile data on, so they are to inform you when your mobile data activated.

Unfortunately this is not the same SoC.
Same family but Z1 and Z1 pro using entry level to P25 which is supporting Android 7.

HI guys,

last week I received my S2, too. This is for me the first time buying a Chinese device.

Sure, I would like to have latest Android version on my device but much more important is that the installed Android version will be patched with latest security patches. On my phone the patch level is from Januar 5, 2017. This is not acceptable!!. When it is planned to deploy latest patches from Google?

Btw: My device is identified as rooted by Airwatch MDM. I found this discussion concerning similar issue on different model. Is there a workaround available for S2, too?
