1. These pre-orders will be processed first
2. You can expect an even more lower price by $10 in the pre-sale period
3. Pre-sold handsets might be shipped a few fays later than the "pre-ordered" ones, so if you make a pre-pre-order, you might receive your phone a bit sooner.
Overall it's your decision. You probably can expect new colors together with new variants (Pro, Plus etc.) only.

Interesting opinion. Currently the UMIDIGI Crystal is the cheapest bezel-less smartphone on the market. Furthermore, one of the cheapest smartphones with 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM and FHD screen. The cheapest available phone with that specs (Leagoo T5) costs around $135. Moreover, other bezel-less phones in the same price range (but still significantly more expensive) have a cheap plastic case housing, not gorilla glass.

Even the definitely bigger Samsung Galaxy S8 has a 3000mAh battery, that supplies a high performance, so also power hungry processor. The Crystal would be very fat and ugly with a bigger battery inside. The 3000mAh battery will be quite enough for a full day average use.
Yes, this special design with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM is more than acceptable for the price. Of course, if you need higher performance, this model is not for you. An around 6-inch screen version (so with bigger battery as well) with higher performance processor is planned to be released in the future.
I think, to pre-order something, then waiting for long is not umidigi specific. For example the pre-sale of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is going to start on 24th August, while its shipping will start on 15th September. The official pre-sale period of the Crystal was started on 15th August and the shipping will start on 25th August. Basically all other factors depend on the sellers and carriers, not on the manufacturer.
