I wonder if that can be flashed via 3rd party recovery (e.g. TWRP).
I'll give it a try in a minute.

And some were foolish to share a story that was not true. I better keep my opinions, I will not make the mistake of insulting the cause as surely would miss as it is their custom. Thanks for nothing

This is a working ROM that solves some reported issues. So, that's more than nothing.

I won't argue with you. Installing this update wouldn't be riskful for me but might be that for you, of course. Anyway, a user has already reported that, this ROM works properly.

Few impressions, that I got from my very brief experience with the 1.7 BETA:

1. After flashing it, using the SP Flash Tool method,
at first the ROM was not rooted. It had to be rebooted one more time, so SuperSU binaries to kick in, apparently.
2. Wake up gestures did not work well - couldn't recognize the pattern and relate it to the assigned/pre-defined function. Even a "leftover" swipe pattern stuck on the screen, when the task bar was pulled down.
Of course, after reboot - it was gone.

Can't comment on the other bothering imperfections, that need fixing, such as:
- WiFi connectivity drop, intermittently
- Audio channels swap - Left and Right
- Clipping and freezing when high amplitude audio is being played

I can comprehend the reluctance of the users to test the version,
because of the sophisticated (relatively) upgrade method,
but that's the only working way to give feedback to DEV team,
so they might work on the final official 1.7 version.

Nevertheless,
I have the UMi iRON device for two days now,
and I'm very impressed.
Keep up the good work!

Edited by mefail at 2015-10-23 23:50 \n\nI am now using the beta firmware...

first problem,i couldnt install it in normal way, i could install it by opening and removing the battery...

About firmware;

+Battery life has improved.its now like flyos...Can use the phone for a day, with 1.6 it lasted half day...
+phone is fluently and fast
-usb speed is slow - transfered a divx and 700kb/s so it was slower than my internet!!!(i was that when i installed firmware with spflash the speed was 22mb/s so the problem is the rom not the phone...)
-Sound quality is bad, i dont understand people well that i talk to...it was wonderful at Flyos
+usb transfer mode works
-camera is the same, at daylight its very good, but a little dark place it has a lot noise and grain...-wifi signal is ok but wifi speed is low than flyme os...

If the usb transfer mode doesnt improve at 1.7 official and the sound quality is not good, i will sell the phone, because i cant waste time with bad firmwares...I hope developers take this problem serious...Or if not, please pay some people from needrom to do a custom rom...

Ps: i never had such problems with my old zopo 980h, its also chinese phone...

Thank you guys for your reviews. Could you summarize what's been improved and what's been worse comparing to the 1.6 version?

I'm facing with a frustrating problem , I bought a MTK 6753 phone entirely trustworthy based on a few important specs like LTE channels 38 to 41 . None of all dealers didn't clearly specified that 38 to 41 channels are FDD so now I can't use my phone to national carrier on 38 TDD - LTE band . My question is : can I modify , reflash , port , making any modifications for modem 6627 instructions from system/etc/firmware and-or system/etc/mddb ? I'm thinking to change FDD to TDD if is it possible ?
I have UMI Iron phone .
Thank you in advance for your answer .
