I sort of had today too.

So i been on a drive where my phone was in its dock acting as hotspot for my tablet, so when i got to my destination i turned off the hotspot.
A little later i wanted to send a mail but my phone said there was no data available, but the display read 4G, so i resat my phone and the mail that was put on hold was sent when the phone had booted.

BUT ! i bit later i tried to replicate the problem by doing the same, but i was not able to do so and my test mail whent off like a bat out of hell.

I have not tried to connect to my home wifi, but i will give that a try later on and report back here.

I have mentioned this already on another place, try this: Stop manually the System-App "SimProcessor" once.

After do this, the problem is gone for me (last 2 days). Maybe this must be done afeter every reboot.

When this first happen to me i saw something flash quick on screen, maybe that was that Simprocessor thing.

Anyway i am not able to make this happen again, have just tried several combinations of wifi connection and phone acting as hotspot, and the phone seem to perform as you would expect now, so that's nice.

So far, I can´t see any Difference by now. My Phone still does not work properly and that´s really a shame. Even though I didn´t expect that much from a phone for this price category, with this bug and some stuff I encountered with Android 6 as well, I really consider selling it and go back to a manufacturer that is established on the german market.

I also tried this, didn´t change anything. Did you restart the phone after ending the process?

Same Problem for me.
Germany telekom.
I am back on Android 6 and no more Problem.

Hello

Wich ROM version did you use to go back to Android 6 please ? downgrading with FlashTool method i presume ?

I hesitate to downgrade to android 6 because it means i will reset my phone and lost my data and installed apps etc etc
I still have my previous phone (a very good JIAYU S3 :-)  ) so i hope UMI developers will fix quickly this bug , providing a new Android 7 ROM soon.
So i could stay on android 7 and have to do no downgrade / re-installation on my UMI Z

Thank You

kman81,
I follow your instructions, and I stop the simprocessor. But what should I do next?

Hi everybody,

I have the same issue since the Nougat update. I'm in France on RED (SFR) network.

I tried different things : factory reset, manually APN configuration, kill SimProcessor app, ... I really don't understand what is the issue, and don't wanna flash my phone to downgrade.
