I have a new UMI Super. The update from UMI SUPER.V3.02_20161017 to UMI SUPER.V7.01_20170123 gets stuck on 'reboot'. I've tried leaving it for several hours, turning off wifi & bluetooth & returning the home to Launcher3 rather than Google Now Launcher, all with no luck. Suggestions?

Just stick to Android 6 for now. Android 7 has problems and umi is working on it. According to Ben.it should take 2 weeks.

What's going on with a new update for the Umi Super?
Two weeks ago I wrote to Facebook that it will be next week the new update for the Umi Super. That was last week where it should have appeared. This is really interesting, since Umi publishes an update (23.01.17) that has something of many mistakes and then Umi does not even remember her own word. Never again Umi smartphone.

As everyone ,after update battery charge takes forever (4hours)..how can i downgrade back to android 6 ?

Comments

But then again - A new, hopefully better, 7.0 version is on the horizon ("weeks") so you may opt for waiting that out.  Post time 2017-3-6 19:29
It's been posted many times. Look here: http://community.umidigi.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=6721&pid=42029&fromuid=250090 You must use the SPFT Tool.  Post time 2017-3-6 19:27

Sartika, "pushing" lasted 2 months after the official anouncment, which was supposed to sell some UMI phones during the Christmas.
And there were NO bugs resolved - even worse - new appeared.
Fingerprint is mad.
Battery is draining faster (maybe because of the fingerprint) - yesterday mine lasted less than a day!!! 4000Mha!!!!!
Fast baterry charging is gone - takes 4 hours for me.

Kudos umi for android 7.0
I still find this phone useless in my daily work as I am heavily dependent on GPS, Cellular Data, bluetooth and WiFi. All these are problematic.
GPS does not work at all
Cellular Data is very weak and intermittent
Bluetooth is very weak
WiFi is so intermittent

Well, on my phone:
  • GPS works better than on 6.0
  • Cellular data is and has always been good.
  • BT is on par with how it was on 6.0 (possibly a little harder to automatically reconnect once out of range)
  • WiFi is (and has always been) rock solid.

So - If all your percieved problems was due to bugs in the software, I would get the same problems, if we run the same software on the same hardware, right?

I can understand if it's frustrating, but bashing UMi for each individual problem with each individual phone, will get us nowhere. All we can do is hope for a new version with bug fixes (and no doubt its own set of bugs, just as with any software release, no matter who's behind it) for our dirt cheap pretty impressive hardware.

I still use Android 6 (20161017) on my Super.
Everything runs smoothly.
I have NO problems with Fingerprint, GPS, WiFi, BT, Notification LED, Batterie, Charging,...
Also the camera was better with every update.
The Camera is still much worse than my LG G4,
but there is a simple explanation...
Cheaper hardware = worse pictures

On my Galaxy S4 (i9505) and Galaxy Note 10.1 (SM-P605), I use Android 7 (LineageOS 14.1).
Android 7 does not offer any outstanding innovations and so I stay with the smoothly running Android 7 on my UMI Super.
