Please note that  According to our policy,  should the item become defective after 150 days from shipment, customers will still be allowed to send the unit back to us. We will help by forwarding the item to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. Until the product arrives at our warehouse, the shipping cost both ways have to be covered by the customer. Any cost incurred during the process will be at customer's expense as well.


For this order , only when the package back to us that can we handle this issue for you. And you should bear the shipping fee and the repaired fee.

You need ask seller for partially refund to cover cost of new battery. Of course this is up too seller which solution propose (repair, refund, replace).

Hello Umi communicty, i was owner of a umi max for a year until my screen broken. I was very satisfied from umi max and i was certain to buy an umi again for the low prices and good quality. So i bought an umi Z 14 ago and its already to my town iam waiting to pick it up at monday because its saturday now. Disappointly i came to check at community about the phone and saw the battery problem. I totally got depressed coz my economics right now wasnt good enough already and having this problem in the future will be the worst case. Is umi fixed this problem already since as i realized its already 1 year since they know about it. I quess is there any posibility to have this problem? this umi that i have order will be fixed by this fault of battery? If its a possibility maybe i should ask a refund from the banggood that i have bought it. All of you people that u had the problem does it fixed by umi or eventually u gave up the phone and lost the money?

I have had a Z Pro for 9 mths. I had it sitting on my desk not plugged in, turned off. I returned to my desk after a few days later (I have two phones) only to find the battery had fully expanded and totally destroyed the phone. Contacted Gearbest. Firstly they would not replace as it is outside of the 45 day return. It doesn't come under that anyway. They will only repair if under 12 months which it is but it is not a repair. Its a major fault and has destroyed the phone as they could see by the photos sent. Then they say keep it, they will reimburse $20 USD but that I have to pay $210USD (more than if I was to purchase a new phone) and they will send a new one saying $210USD is shipping costs! Their repair warranty say they return free of charge. They will replace it if I return the phone however I feel that this is too dangerous and no airline would accept this. The photos of the damage is clear. They wont respond to this. I have asked to now raise this as a complaint. They ignore this. I have referred them to the UMI Forums and UMI acknowledging a fault. They ignore this and any questions around their warranty or contact with UMI. They have constantly changed their minds and have now gone back to the original response referring me again to their warranty and conditions and the same offer as above but say that the $210USD is now a handling fee not shipping and they want me to get a costing on how much to return the phone. I can buy a new phone from them for $165USD and free shipping as I pointed out to them. They ignored. They simply should be replacing or refunding the phone without putting the risk on others to ship it back as I have noticed others have been concerned about.
I have followed every rule so now need UMI and others to comment please. Cheers

Everything is repairable. Screen is around $25, battery around $10.
Ask Gearbest for refund which will cover repairing cost.
This battery was charged several times after expanding. Definitely phone couldn't be destroyed in few days without using dye to battery inflation.

This option is no more available. Currently all batteries issues needs to be sorted with seller.

I had the same problem and the swollen battery broke the phone. Contacted seller (TOMTOP) in August 2017 and they still refuse to replace, repair or refund the wished amount. TOMTOP tells lies, like the phone is not available to fix or promises a higher refund percent and then refuses to do it. They delay the process and causing me a lot of frustration.
Within 6 months they can't solve the problem.

I completely don't understand people like you. When you spotted that the battery causing such issues you should stop using phone to prevent further damage. Then you could request refund for battery and fix your phone in local repairing centre or yourself.
