Hi Umidigi Support,
     How long are you going to ignore C2 users and our problem with Google Contacts Sync?
I have fully updated the phone and have done another test of saving contacts. When amended and saved contacts they erroneously get names from unrelated existing contacts! Tis is driving me nuts.
I cannot add new contacts for the last 2 months.
You preinstall Google Apps so please be accountable.
Is UMIDIGI a professional business or a toy manufacturer?
If 1st then can I have ETA for the fix?

I don't think it can be removed by the user.
However, it can be de-activated.

Settings->Apps-> 3 dots in upper-right corner-> show system-apps-> find Touchpal and de-activate it.

Hi,

• Go to Settings → Permission Management → App startup management.
• Click on the 3-dot menu button in the top right corner.
• Select System auto startup app(s) and Confirm.
• Scroll down to Google Contacts Sync and enable it. You might need to reboot your phone.
• It’s also recommended to enable the following apps: Calendar, Gmail, Google Account Manager, Google app, Google Partner Setup, Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google Services Framework and Vcalendar. Or anything you want.

Is there a way to change the default launcher now? Also my C2 say I'm up to date but it is in V1.5_20170921. I have tried the QGDP method but the program can't unzip the ROM.
Being up to date is not that important to me, I just want to change the default launcher.

I'm sorry but not even the latest version makes it possible to change the stock launcher. You can try to flash with SP Flash tool.

Hello everyone,

I have just received a brand new Umidigi C2. The phone is ok but I am disappointed by the impossibility to use the Nova launcher.

I have several phones with an identical interface and I need to change the home launcher. I sincerely hope that an upgrade to allow to change the launcher will soon be available as promised. Or just a simple Android stock firmware, with no add-ons.

There seems to be a suggestion (a so called tip) showing up once in a while to enable this thing. I use to ignore it.
Not sure what exactly Umidigi benefits from pushing this, for spying on us or for ads, not sure.
In Android world it is not that important who US, China, Russia or Israel is spying on us.

For the sake of freedom from these corporations like Google and their Android I would definitely go into agreement with Umidigi to mod their build to disable spying in exchange of some agreed ads I have to look at.
Smartphones were never created with security in mind. They are just turning to security now, because of frequent privacy rows and the banking sector intereseted in pushing their banking apps.

But still users have to balance between adware and spyware. I would definitely go adware way as long as it is well arranged with user community.
Umidigi has to think of it better otherwise market adoption of your phones is not going to be good and people go back to Carphone Warehouse.
I would suggest creating Umidigi app where people go to get introduced to new Umidigi phones, read some specs and then be presented with some adds, but pushing some screensavers with adds is compromizing you business.

Perphaps someone should continue the Cyanogenmod way and find different ways to raise revenue instead of regular adware practices.
