You're damed right: I I bought the Super in pre sale and the GPS signal was the worst ever. Always jumping from one place to another. No signal at all. ± 100m onaccuracy; so I sent it back to the seller and requested for a replacement..2 Weeks later I received another Umi Super WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!
Please tell me. Do I have to lift carefully the 2 metal pins from tge motherboard of from the plastic cover?

looking for Solution, and I'm not supposed to modify a phone that I just bought, so I hope UMI will make the necessary.

Hey, I have the same problem with the GPS. I bought my umi super today.

The problem is the phone or the software? If umi can fix it I can wait, but I need the GPS...

The problem is that if it was fixable. Umi would have fixed it long ago. This is not an unknown event in the software. Of course they knew the quality of the camera and the gps. It is indeed a panasonic 13 mpx camera, but you have to pair it with decent software. There are so much postprocessing algorithm after the light is captured by the camera. The days with bad GPS were gone.. so I thought. This GPS is even worse than my ZTE Blade I bought years ago. The GPS should be easier to fix because it's all about feeding the phone with GPS-signals from various satelites, GPS, GLONASS and do a simply calculation to gain the position and feed it to various apps. Even that simple task is a fail.

Hi, i have the same problem. I recently ordered the UMI Super from Amazon, and at first was very pleased with the phone, it really is nice, but the GPS inaccuracy makes me want to return it.  

I have updated to the latest ROM update, and tried several apps involving GPS Fixing tools etc, but no luck. The GPS seems to take a long time to lock on, and then does not update correctly periodically.

When driving it is impossible to use for sat-nav as the location teleports anything upto 2 miles away in distance. Even when it is near-enough in terms of accuracy it is never on the road, it's always floating about in the middle of a nearby field.... This is the only problem i have with this phone.... and feel very let down at the quality of the GPS.

I am going to assume by this thread and what people have posted that this is a hardware error due to poor Q&A before release, and if no ROM fixes are pushed within the next 20 days or so that fixes this issue, i'll have no choice but to return the phone to Amazon.

Really let down... I have tried entering engineer mode and tweaking some settings related to GPS but it has made no changes... because of this i will not recommend this phone to others.

I hope it can be fixed, as i said it is a really nice phone, but the GPS is useless enough that it had just aswell not be a feature...

It's more or less not fixable. Umi could easily fix but they don't so guess why?
I will return my phone and never get anything from Umi again.

Hi,

I face the same GPS problems: Google Maps Navigation is completly useless.

But since I get a fast GPS fix with the "GPS Test" app, I wonder why there are problems with navigation. Even my previous Samsung S3 neo has worse GPS signal when compared to the SUPER using the GPS Test app (while working flawless with Navigation).

So I still guess it's a software issue which could be fixed. Hello UMI! Can you hear us?
