Google are the bad guy.

Just because one user got this issue when updating from Lollipop to Marshmallow doesn't mean that a bad GPS in UMI Super is caused by Google.

This is definitely an issue either with the hardware or software from UMI. All other Android 6.0 phones I have owned or even tried, haven't had any GPS issues at all.

It is a problem of marshmallow 6.0
Now it's up to UMI to finish the issues the with a OTA or ROM fix.
Please for all UMI Smartphones. I have the UMI Touch X and Touch. Same issues with the GPS.
Make a ROM for all your Phones with 6.0.1 please or a good OTA update.
Please!!!

After using MT GPS app (needs root), the GPS reception seems to be a lot better. I haven't tried navigation yet, I will share my results when I try.

Hi,
tried my brand new UMI Super for two days now. Very satisfied with the phone (changed from iPhone 6) ... until the GPS reception made me wonder and i found, that I'm not alone with that situation.
Well: same here too. Horrible signal with my Super.
I tried to navigate with google maps (like I used to with the iPhone), impossible to maneuver in city traffic.
I also tried Pokemon Go. When standing still, it looks not that bad. But as soon you start moving, the position shown by the phone jumps all over the place. Makes it impossible to play.

Read through all the 11 pages of forum, still no clue.
Is it now the hardware pins under the cover, or software?
Regards from Austria!

@susi212 and @fernandobrito01

All tools and fixes in the internet do not work. Dont try it or you waste time. i do. 5 days are gone with no fix. Also teardown my touch to look at the contact pins. all OK.  you got signal or you got no signal. that only works when you have no signals (NO). it is an software bug in marshmallow. UMI and Google fix it please!

Hi, I got my Super about 3 weeks ago and have the same problem. I have tried just about everything I have found online, tried copper tape, aluminium software but nothing changes much (aluminium has been the best so far but only a small improvement. One thing I have noticed is that it seems a lot of the people with issues are in Europe (I am in Germany) could you tell me if you are having issues where you are. Maybe it is a localized issue.

I have not experienced such problems. I have used it extensively on a recent trip and it has no abnormal variations in positioning, even though not always as accurate as one would like to: http://community.umidigi.com/thread-4027-1-2.html  Android location settings, though, were set to "device only" (not the usual "high precision" which uses input from mobile and wifi networks).

If most users reporting the problem are in Europe, than it could be a batch production problem of a specific production lot. Or even a problem with the writing of the firmware of that specific lot.

It would be reassuring if UMI staff at the least addressed the problem officially.

P.S.: Camera results also not as "Super" as promised: http://community.umidigi.com/thread-4016-1-1.html

Indeed its dump if it not fixed by next ota i send the phone Back and stepping over to a otherbrand.

Sorry to tell you, but the last FOTA (here in The Netherlands) didn't help this issue. Actually I will send back the phone to China.
