I can say from own experience and from going to a lot of forums and pains that VoLTE and VoWIFI wo ...

All carriers in my country are not limited to volte connections. All phones can register ims, volte is available. uidigi z2 pro does not have the correct mbn setting.

All carriers in my country are not limited to volte connections. All phones can register ims, volt ...

I can not comment on what your phone can or cant, but I  can confirm that mine works fine with Volte and Vowifi, tested on 2 different carriers, one being Orange the other being Digi. The Orange sim enabled Volte automatically, for the Digi one I had to do some tricks.
After reading a lot of forums, and I mean a lot, sort of found out that there are 3 prerequisites for Volte to work:
1. The phone should be Volte capable (the Z2 Pro is)
2. The carrier should accept your sim card as volte capable and enable IMS comms (thats tricky with most carriers because they dont make the effort to add all phones to the list of accepted phones)
3. The correct IMS config on your phone, either pushed by carrier or you should set up separately)
If you are referring to mcfg_sw.mbn, I assume carrier specific preset volte settings, you could be correct, but I dont see how any phone maker could put all carriers on this planet in there. And even if they had that info, if the carrier does not allow Volte for your phone model, no config file will help. (happened to me with Digi, but I tricked their system)
What usually happens is that carriers get lazy, and dont allow Volte even though the phone can, and blame it on the phone maker. And as long as I pay a monthly fee to x provider, I expect them to make sure their services work, I dont expect the phone maker to go to my provider and convince them to enable Volte on the phone, the provider can do that themselves, if they want.
The phone maker sells a phone which is Volte capable, not the Volte service, thats your provider. And if it does not work with you, threaten them, set fire to their shops (kidding), they CAN fix this for you, its up to them.

PS: the thing with "all carriers do not limit volte" I heard before, its was a lie in my case, after spending some quality time with their support, I was actually told they do not allow this phone with Volte, but found a way to make it work nonetheless, and work it does Hope you manage to solve it.

Is the advanced Bokeh mode coming to the original Umidigi Z2? The Z2 has far fewer bugs than the pro version, but the bokeh mode is still that horrendous circle

Edited by ricalv at 2018-10-21 00:15 \n\nHello,
After several weeks of tampering with the z2 pro, I've managed to get volte back to work, still waiting for umidigi to fix the rest of the critical issues with the software

Hello,
I managed to get it back working by creating an additional APN, with the following information
Name: Ims
APN: Ims
MCC: the one in your providers APN
MNC: the one in your providers APN
Bearer unspecified
MVNO type: IMSI
MVNO: your providers IMSI code

I have tried with orange, movistar and Yoigo, and it only worked with orange and movistar.

Hope it helps

Edited by Felix123 at 2018-10-23 02:00 \n\nHi Bencebacsi,

I ask again, do you have a real and working OTA file I can install for my current UMIDIGI Z2 Pro V1.0_20180914 ROM - SPFT + OTA. I do assume it should be ">>>>> UMIDIGI_Z2_PRO_V1.0_20180823_20180926-1646-2_update.zip <<<<<
It can update version 20180823_20180914 only" since my phone shows  20180823_20180914.

But, none of the methods listed here DO NOT WORK. Tried local OTA update, error 5 times in a row, no change, update fails.
Tried copying to SD card, rebooted to recovery, Apply Update from SD card, started the update process, then crashed the update process, rebooted, no change. Tried second time, fail. Third time, again fail.

Have you guys tested any of the OTA updates for this one? It does not work with 20180823_20180914 (installed via Local OTA)

Any fixes, or better said do you have a correct update OTA file for UMIDIGI Z2 Pro V1.0_20180914 ROM (OTA install)? Because none of the 2 local OTAs do work. Tried both for kicks.

These kind of fuckups damage Umidigis image, you should at least try to correct it. I like the phone, but would not recommend it to a friend as long as you guys cant show a professional attitude towards your users.

Thank you!

PS: Every new ROM says it will be available via FOTA, I have yet seen a OTA upgrade on my phone, and I mean real OTA, not local update.

so true i have the same problem as well and it seems like they don't see it as a huge proble,  Post time 2018-10-23 11:41
You probably have some reason preventing you from flashing 20180926 with SPFT. Yet, it's the simplest way to go. Give it at try.  Post time 2018-10-23 04:05

Hi,
Of course I test and double check every OTA files before publishing. On the other hand, just a few users reported wireless update issues while the Z2 Pro has thousands of users already. As a possibility there might be one or more damaged files in your system that makes the OTA update failed. In that case your solution is flashing with SP Flash Tool. That's the primary reason of providing the flash tool ROMs to make it possible to repair phones with damaged software. So please just use it, that's for you.
