I would like to share with you the answer provided by GearBest after contacting them for the battery expansion problem. In conclusion they ask me to pay more than initial phone's value in order to have a repaired and possibly faulty again int he future phone.

What kind of warranty is this? Does anyone from UmiDigi hear? At least this is a shame.

This problem in the bulge of the battery and bulge, manufacturers are defective in the battery itself, and the company producing the phone find the right solution.

I went for a mountain bike ride under a lead sun, with the UMI Z in the bag, 4G active and strava launched.
At the end of the hike, I wanted everything cut, the phone was burning, I could barely hold it in hand, the battery was 40 degree, and well the battery did not inflate anymore, even if I go Change it, in any case in my heat does not pose any problems

Good afternoon,
I have the same problem with my UMI Z, after 3 months has begun to swell, once I have read this thread, I have disconnected the phone and stopped using it for fear of a possible fire, I made the contact with bangood to inform me that I must do about it and I'm still waiting.

It is the first Chinese phone I bought, and I had high hopes for it, but I have the feeling that it will be a bad experience, and if I finally have to discard the phone it will be the last time I trust.

Sorry for my English, and pray for a solution.

This is to inform you about the last communication a had with GearBest support team:

My Question:
I would like to ask something before I make my decision. What is the cost (in total + shipment to Greece) of a new battery of the same type, given that the new battery will not face the same problems as the original one?

GearBest support Asnwer:
Dear Christoforos,

Thank you for your inquiry.
I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer battery seperately.
The previous options are the best we can offer.
Please consider and let us know your decision.
Have a good day!

Best Regards
Abia

My UMI Z battery swelled and screen pushed out  Definitely all the UMI Z's out there going to face this problem soon. I've carefully charged all the time and it's just 03 months use. UMI, can you please direct us where to get a "working" battery for this?

Still no answer from UMI, but the warranty odyssey continues.

After GearBest answer, I contacted UMI’s local office here in Greece to set my problem with phone’s battery. First of all they advised me to not use the phone any longer since soon the screen will get broken. To battery problem, they answered me that they are responsible (warranty) only for the devices being sold by them. However, they can repair my phone with a logical cost as soon as (no more batteries are available) they manage to get a battery from UMI China. In no case they can guarantee that the new battery will not face the same problem in the future.

From my point of view, UMI should at least undertake the cost of this service.

I will keep you informed for the next steps.
