It depends .... if your device arrival with android 7 is probably part of the new generation so you can not install android 6 otherwise you'll always have the black screen ... i have the same problem and i can not install android 6 and there ' there is no way to do it even with the flash tool the only thing you can do is install the twrp and root it on your smartphone and try to resolve the problems ...(not All problem)

I come with android 6, but after update to android 7, it have problem, too much power comsumtion and tounch screen sensor  are bad, i try to return to android 6, can u teach me how to install twrp on android 7, i cannot intall it the same way i do with android 6.please help

I´m also interested  in full instrutions to:
- Backup full actual android 7 (remember that i have no root) to return if anything went bad.
- Return to previous android 6 immediately before the fist android 7.

can anyone help me ?!?!?!

i have tried to install this uptade throught out the manual ota option and the other one via recovery menu either of them are working for me
the first 1 the uptade simply appears installing and all of the sudden the phone reboot's. with the second option the installation its aborted right at the beginnig ?!?!

You can make a full backup in recovery but you need an at least 32GB capacity micro SD card installed in your phone. An Android 7 backup cannot be restored in android 6, so that's better to just copy your files to a computer, then copy them back after returning to Android 6. You can downgrade to Android 6 by flashing the latest Marshmallow ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. No other special tasks are needed.

Hi,
with an OTA update you can update only the last earlier version, not an even earlier one. You should tell us which version you are trying to update by which version.

Sorry but I many times changed between Android 6 and 7 with SP Flash Tool for test purposes but never had a black screen. Something must be wrong with your PC setup, drivers or USB connection, or even with the hardware of your phone.
You can't downgrade Android version with any kind of recovery method.
You still can try to format the whole flash chip under the Format tab in SPFT, then flash the android 6 ROM but if you do so, then you have to restore your IMEI numbers with SN Writer Tool.
also I must repeat again, the latest Android 7 version has absolutely no stability issues. If you have such experiences, that's a specific issue on your side.

Hi Bencebacsi,

Yes, I am agree with you: the latest Android 7 version has absolutely no stability issues for Umi Plus(in my case). I don't have any problems with software.
But I am disappointed regarding the security patch updates. Why Umi has stopped the software updates for it? Phone has a good hardware.
