Hello,

On the specifications, it says UMI Z supports 3GP/MP4 video format but all my videos are recorded to 3GP and I didn't find any option to choose MP4

Is it possible to record videos to MP4 format instead of 3GP ?

3GP is just a file extension and like at AVI, it doesn't identify the used codec inside.
If you analyze the video files recorded with a UMi Z, you can see that, it uses H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) codec for encoding the videos recorded in Full HD and MPEG-H Part2/HEVC (H.265) when recording 4K videos.

This is really a joke. The compression of the 3GP data is cruel - I would also switch it to MP4! But where is the Option?

Shame on you Umi, the Software got so many bugs...

Ok, I get it, thank you.

But then there is something else I don't understand.

The quality of the video recorded with my phone (1080p) seems to be ok, but when I send the video through WhatsApp, the quality turns real bad.
I guess Whatsapp resize/encode since the size of the video is much lower, but still I didn't have this problem with my OnePlus One, even once Whatsapp would resize/encode, the quality was still good, so I thought the problem was because of the 3GP (videos on my OnePlus One were MP4s).

How do you know they are working on it ?

I see a lot of people complaining but not much reaction appart from you two moderators.

Is there a place where we can submit bugs and stuff for testing purpose ?

The recorded videos are hardware encoded by the X27 SoC and probably the built-in decoder of Whatsapp cannot decode them properly. Maybe a future update of Whatsapp will solve that issue.

That amount of feedback left here in the forum is more than enough. The engineers will know about the reported issues but they must be filtered before passing them on.
