Hello everyone.
I have a question and I hope you can help me.
I ordered a UMi Diamond at Aliexpress but now the german custom office / duty makes trouble because of the CE label.
There is a CE label at the package of the phone and also a CE label in the user manual.
But in germany its very special ... and they also need a "CE declaration of conformity". Otherwise they will send the package back or destroy the smartphone and this means extra costs for me and I dont think I will get my money back from the seller at Aliexpress.

So can you help me out? Do you have such a "CE declaration of conformity" for your phones especially for the UMi Diamond?Or where can I get such a declaration?

Best regards from germany

Hi
Not only the package and the user's manual but the back of the phone also contains the CE logo with the appropriate certification number exactly in the same form as it is required by EU laws. If you are not an importer (retailer), just an end-user of single or just a few devices (non-commercial quantity), you don't have to provide the CE documentation.  Only the correctly printed CE logo on the device is enough. So an end-user is always a consumer and never an importer or distributor since he keeps the purchased device for personal use while importers/distributors resell it. That customs officer is just an uneducated one and doesn't know the difference.
Please check this link: https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sing ... ers-distributors_en
Importers/distributors have to be able to provide the appropriate documents to the local authorities but consumers only must be "careful" when purchasing.

Hello MarcinP,
thank you very much for your reply.

I understand what you mean but the custom office doesn`t agree with this. They want to have a special "Declaration of conformity".
Please see attached file. This is just an example from an "uninterruptable power supply". There you can see how this "Declaration of conformity" should look like.

In the specification for the UMi Diamond is written:
Certification
CE/ROHS/WEEE/MSDS/UN38.3

So this smartphone has a CE-Certificate. But the custom office in germany want to see this Certification ... Otherwise I will not get the package.

I picked mine up from german customs on saturday. They did only check if the CE label was on the box and on the device and handed over the device without further questions...

So you had luck ... Thats the normal approach at the custom office. But our custom office is very accurate and they want to have this CoD for this smartphone. A CE sign is not sufficient.

So UMi, do you have such a CE Certificate for your Smartphones or not?

Got my diamond Friday at custom office. They want to see the CE signs on the package and a german instruction manual. It was in the package, so I had pay the import turnover tax and could take it home. Seller was Gearbest. Gearbest has written "gift" on the package, so they take it, cause that wasn't correct. Why do the german custom-offices handle things not identic? Law regulations should be clear, everywhere. Seems that I'm a lucky one.

By the way: @volle: two pins at backcover plate (head/camera near) are broken. Your's too?

Hello heavyload,

So just the CE signs at the back of the phone and the CE sign in the user manual? And the normal user manual where you can find so CE Certificate?

So just the manual like this:

Maybe customs try open back cover to check for details on label inside.
