DEAD! Any ideas are welcome

So I have an Umi Rome, used for about a month and a half then it fell and the touchscreen broke.
Before finding a replacement (few months ago) the battery depleated (went to 2.97V) so it couldn't be charged any more.
I replaced the touchscreen and charged the battery with an universal battery charger (4.2V) but the phone won't start at all, does nothing.
When i connect it to the PC i can see it as Mediatek Preloader. I even flashed the 3.05 ROM on it hoping it will turn on.
So I thought it is the battery (maybe the elecronics inside -middle pin something). But I put the battery in another phone (Umi rome X) and it works. And I put the other phone's battery in this one. Still acts the same.
Any ideas? anyone? I don't know what to do more.

Dear crashnburn,

I think there's no idea without examining your device. The battery pins on the motherboard or the motherboard itself might be broken. Your phone should be checked by a repairman. The middle pin of the battery is not needed to be able to power on your phone.

best solution @overrid3 is buy an xiaomi phone.

my umi rome is the first an last phone of umi.  when it get broken screen or suddenly dont power on... i will buy an xiaomi,

it has updates of security umi launch dead phones to market. or ill phones that never update or fix its bugs

i buy a umi rome on december 2015, in the first week the phone switch off suddenly. I send to china, i pay the courier. i wait for 3 months, they send one with the same problem. I contact to the support and say me i have to pay again the delivery because they dont know if the fail is mine or for the phone. this is my umi and i sure is the last.  support is the worst i never seen in my life. i spent 18$ to send to china and i have to do it again. im very angry with this trash called umi rome
