Current release : Third OTA

Back Camera  

• Original ROM : locked in 21MP, laggy
• 3rd OTA : 5,8,13 MP modes, sometimes the camera is laggy
• Great quality on certain conditions, correct (painting like) on regular condition, bad on low luminosity
• VERY fast focus (awesome)
• Try to install : Camera FV-5 pro as camera app    (Thanks to digitalbd to find the app !)
  

Front Camera  

• Low luminosity : Bad quality (very noisy)
• High luminosity : Correct quality for a front camera
  

Wifi

• 3rd OTA : Seems to work well but sometimes disable itself for no apparent reason
  

Bluetooth : OK
Fingerprint : OK
GPS :

• No orientation since there is no compass
• Noisy output (?)
  

Battery : Some speak about battery drain, I personnaly did not have it for enough time
3G/4G : OK
Android 6 : OK

• Much more fluid/great than Lollipop
  

Accelerometer : OK
Compass : None
Gyroscope : None
Light sensor : OK
Proximity sensor : OK
Calls : OK
Touchscreen : OK (even with Tempered glass)
Torch : OK
Microphone : OKCommunications : OK
Notification LED : None

Notes :

• Side button have a very good touch sensation
• SIM + SIM/SD slot looks so fragile
• There ARE dots on the LCD screen (set screen to white, on some ambient luminosity, over a certain angle, we see it, but I discourage you to do it, you will see them ALL THE TIME) : Problem of manufacturing (from be bencebacsi) or problem of heat (from users)
  

Known bugs :

• Settings application crashes when the language is french, when we try to search in settings
• The language reset on EACH reboot instead of on the first boot => Marshmallow default setting
• The SU binairies are missing => UMI is dealing with Marshmallow permissions to root it, might be expected in future OTA

Yeah i am facing problem with camera after update
And as you know camera is the most important thing in mobile now a days
Its laggy and not so clear
Also face problem with 3g internet ... it didn't connect sometime

Personnaly, the camera works great... I experienced once the laggy camera, when I started in background app installations

Dear,
Thank you very much for your pertinent evaluation.
We will optimize the camera and battery performance continuously.
For the  "known bugs", I made comments on these issue.
Known bugs :
Settings crashes in french when we try to search
Sorry, I'm not so clear about this problem, can you me give more detailed information about it?
The language reset on EACH reboot instead of on the first boot
This is the  the default settings of Android 6.0, your phone will detect your SIM card and push the relative language for you
The SU binairies are broken after the third OTA (Phone no more rooted, root method required)
The Umi Touch haven't been rooted, we haven't broken the Android 6.0 permission, we will realize it ASAP.

Dear Jo,
Thanks for your feedback, I updated the post in consequence.

The problem with settings is this one for the Android Settings application

In English, we can use the search option (to find some parameters)

Search in settings working in english

Once we switch to French Langage (Français), the search option is no more working, and settings app crashes

Once we press on a key, it crashes in french language

These frequencies are useful outside of the Americas. There's nothing here that can be fixed. The compatibility with the American bands would need a different modem, a different version of the phone in fact. UMI Iron Pro is theoretically 3G/4G capable in American countries.

Update of the camera solution, adding the "white dot' problem

Umi Touch on the latest OTA has a weak LTE signal, on the first OTA was better. Iron pro has a much better signal LTE. I compared both at the same place and the same network. Please correct the signal level LTE in the next OTA.

The touch screen lags, it's not a fun typing with that. The GPS Problem i had could be fixed; but i used two ways after another, so i don't know, which one was the right one (root and FasterGPS and something else)
