UMI ROME X Problems? Please Share your experience

Hello guys

I am thinking about buying 2 UMI ROME X as a gift for myfather and mother. Design is great , camera seems to be more than good (alleast in the ads) battery seems not to be bad, but I’ve heard some critics inthe forums. As I think you all have tested them

Would you mind sharing yourexperience using UMI ROME X? I wouldn’t like to buy a useless phone to myparents

I’ve heard the following problems (some of the are in this forum too)

Touch screen doesn’t work or works poorly

GPS is useless

Bluetooth is useless

Camera is quiet bad and in some deliveries it is not 8MP

Some problems recording video

Can’t be updated (FOTA can not be updated in the phone)

You can receive SMS, or other notifications in the mainscreen

Battery drains ultra fast (I’ve heard it is just 2.000 mAhinstead of 2.400 mAh)

Are some (or all) of this problems solved by FOTA by themanufacturer?

I’ve heard some of the problemas are in all the releases  some in the first release and some in thesecond

I just need for my gift a standard phone but with all the devicesettings working

Hi. I am from Spain too (from Madrid). I have Rome X and yes, have some problems:

GPS is useless. Is like no GPS.

Camera is Ok. Have 8Mpx but interpolates to 13Mpx. When you take a photo, you can't choose to 8mpx, always be on 13Mpx so I think the quality is not all great due to interpolate image. But it's very good for a 55€ phone.

Battery: don't have a lot of capacity, but it is average.

Touch screen: works ok in the version v3.01; but very bad in the v3.05

Can't by update via fota: You must update the phone with a computer to v3.02 version before you can update via FOTA (but in my experiencie is better to not update the phone).

Bluetooth and SMS works fine.

And the wifi is weak. (So I think the problem with the GPS is due to antenna).

I think i can cancel my order. I want a phone with no problems Design is great buyt if something doen't work......... I've read that GPS problem is due firmware

Order Cancelled for my UMI ROME X: I don't want problems in a new phone. Phone market is wide and life has many problems every day to be looking for more

i saw a picture in another post and my screen looks the same as the picture
screen is crazy
and i want to change the lockscreen and it doesnt keep the apps running
