As the first achievement of the cooperation between the LineageOS team and UMIDIGI, a LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2) beta version ROM for UMIDIGI S2 Lite now is available for testing. Please note, it's not the final version, so you can experience more or less issues.

Hi All,

some questions about LineageOS and Umidigi S2 Lite:

- Did someone test LineageOS for Umidigi S2 Lite now for some time? How is the experience? Any Problems/Bugs?
- What about LineageOS for S2 Lite and updates, does it get frequently updates from LineageOS Team?
- Is the Google Play Store/Services/FB-Messaging included in LineageOS for S2 Lite?
- When flashing my S2 Lite with the LineageOS ROM do I need to completly format the device or can I flash it without deleting my personal data and reuse the data directly in LineageOS?

Sorry but no info from the engineers but it seems to be a hardware defection.

Hi

You can run the MTKlogger in EngineerMode but first please try to test your phone after flashing it in firmware upgrade mode and installing only some basic apps. Unfortunately it still seems to be a hardware defection, even if that happened to other users too.

It's for S2 Lite as the title says. You can't install the same ROM on different phones with different hardware. Look into the tutorial, you can flash it with TWRP.

Hi,
The LineageOS team will release the Oreo based version but if you flash a custom ROM, then you can't receive factory system updates, of course, you can install (flash) them only manually.

- It works properly but beside the video recording issue, you can't configure the fingerprint scanner as a touch button.
- The LineageOS team usually releases regular updates for their releases but that's their project, so better to ask them. lineageos.org
- You need to install GAPPS to get the google apps and services. Please read the installation tutorial. FB messenger is something that you can install from the play store as usually.
- You don't flash LineageOS ROMs but you have to install them via TWRP recovery. Please read the tutorial about the installation process.

To other user (as well): If there's any news about the LineageOS release, I'll publish it here on the forum, even without asking me.

Hi and thanks for the info.

what exactly do you mean with the video recording issue, is recording not working?

So the updates for LineageOS for S2 Lite are directly coming from Lineage-Team and not from Umidigi-Team, is that right?

With "FB-Messaging" I meant the FireBase messaging service from google not the stupid Faceb-fu**.
