It is very cumbersome to set a ringtone individually for each contact.
Is it possible to assign a ringtone to the groups in my contacts?
I know that in previous versions of Android there was a feature that could be used to assign a ringtone to the groups.

I have found a solution in the meantime.
Google Play: Group Ringtone


Group Ringtone automatically sets the ringtones of your contacts based on group affiliation.
You can now also manage your ringtones directly with Google Contacts.
Group Ringtone also supports a standard ringtone for all your contacts.
By setting a default ringtone that differs from the default ringtone set on the phone,
it is possible to have different ringtones for saved contacts and "unknown" (unsaved) contacts.
