What is the likeliness for the S2/S2 Pro be updated to Android 8/Oreo OS?

Umidigi S2 Pro team Good Work... Handset is awesome....

Please slove below bugs...

Bugs...
1.        Proximity sensor not working Calling goes in sleep mode
2.        Sometimes Virtual keys not work (need to click very accurate) I think need to increase size of Virtual Key Panel...
3.        In contacts sometimes touch not works....
4.        App opens very slowly...
5.        Internet not working properly…
6.     Need gesture support, double tab,etc...

Yes, it will be very nice to get an update to Nougat.
Meantime though, let's hope UMidigi keep sending out OTA updates to fix the small things that are not quire perfect on the S2 right now.

Sorry, but the S2 not getting Android 7 because of the Helio P20 seems unlikely. It's because there are existing UmiDigi Phones with the Helio P20 Prozessor running on Android 7, like the UmiPlus E. It should really work. Anyone has a really official link to the Page where they post that the first batch of S2 will be different (Only Umidigi Employers posting please)..

We really need an Umidigi statement here..

I will cancel my order, if they leave me hanging here..

BTW. i dont Need Android 7/8
6 works perfect, just provide security updates and improvements for camera and so on

I think that this is pretty disgraceful. I ordered the umidigi s2. Gearbest lost it and I got my money back. I'm glad I did. Selling a fancy looking 18:9 smartphone with all the bells and whistles but running on an outdated os is just not on at all. We have android 8.0 now. This is two series old. Ridiculous.

It is highly unlikely to get Android 8.0 on S2/S2 Pro.

can i know the first batch refer to which date ?
i just order recently for the $50 discount so am i in the first batch too...

on the side note, whether android 6 or 7 or Os....frankly it does not bother me due to i m lite user or you can put it not so IT savy type.

i feel abit of disappointed from some other user whom don't even use the phone but start to critic on it. It just a mid range budget phone so don't have to be so harsh on it. Unless we pay for the price of Samsung latest model or Iphone 8 with high premium price with less function.

As a matter of fact, most of my friend think i m cheapskate for getting the umidigi s2 and abit of let down by their remark - as while the other buddy of mine, console with a beautiful remark - did they own the phone to know the worth, play with it and then show your view after you try on it.

Thank you for pointing out the thread. It seems that the one offered wipes out the phone, so technically it is not an update and it seems some have ended up bricking their devices. I'll better wait for OTA one.
On the good note, I was a bit worried regarding the phones data connection, it seemed always slow cooping with 4G signal until I got this today:

I ordered the S2 expecting it would come with Android 7 UMI OS, because this was listed on the Umidigi S2 specification page. Now it turns out it will be shipped only with Android 6. If I had known this, then I would have waited until they shipped the S2 with Android 7.

So what are my options? Will there be a ROM released with UMI OS Android 7 for us who ordered the S2 early? If so, when will it be available?

They said the first batch of S2 will keep on Android 6 (there will be some updates, but nothing of update to Android 7).

So the second batch of S2 and the S2 Pro will come with UMI OS Android 7.

I understand that the second batch will come with Android 7. However I just wonder if the ROM with Android 7 UMI OS will be made available for us customers that bought the first batch. I mean available for download, so that we can flash it ourselves.

I don't know if it will change later, but they said "no" for the first batch of S2 to get a Android 7 update.

The reason they are talking is about the second batch of S2 will come with a slightly better Helio P20. (MT6757 the original model vs MT6757V the second batch model).

I don't understand why this because, Umidigi S who have almost the same chip have Android 7 and now they are talking about split the same model just because a chip with a little update.

I ordered the S2 thinking it would have Android 7 with the split screen feature for apps. That's why I'd be happy if an Android 7 ROM comes available for first batch S2 phones.
