When are you going to update Rootjoy to support the eMax mini?

Also, when are you releasing Lollipop 5.1, and can you include the option to make it LTE-FDD band 20 compatible please (800Mhz) so it is more compatible with European networks (namely O2 UK, Three UK and Portugal's MEO network .. formerly tmn pt)... O2's 4G network only uses 800Mhz and Three UK's network is upgrading to include 800Mhz for better coverage, similary with MEO / tmn.

Other than them small gripes the eMax mini is a great phone, brilliant battery life compared to the UMI Hammer (the original, not the Hammer S) and the camera's and screen are excellent.

Thanks

  • eMAX mini is the first smartphone in UMI's portfolio that's built with a Snapdragon processor. That needs more time for the developers to make Rootjoy recovery compatible with Snapdragon phones.
  • The date of an Android 5.1 upgrade is not yet known.
  • Unfortunately, this phone is not b20 LTE compatible due to hardware limitations, so that won't be enabled by firmware upgrade.

Let's hope they skip the 5.1.x update and go straight to Android M, otherwise it would be a waste of time and effort.

if you are not expert, just wait. There are a lot of people who bricked their phones or locked to USA network.
just put google keyboard on it (it has a lot of languages) and wait (like me) that rootjoy will support CM12.1

Not really, UMI has to fix a lot of hard bugs. Since the release of the eMax mini UMI works (or works not) on it to get a software above beta status.
If we have to wait for the relase of Android M we will get a software on alpha status and we have to wait some month more.
They have to do their duty first, before they can show off!

Indeed.

Would love a fully working rom, whatever it is, instead of an actual M upgrade. I actually prefer kitkat over lollipo so I wouldn't care about a downgrade if it's going to work properly.

I hope UMI will work on something about the mini because right now looks so much like a beta testing device.. not a real one.

You are right.
An downgrade would be O.K. for me.
But, is KitKat able to run smooth on an 64Bit system?

Not sure about that, probably not even if the Emax 5.5" is 64 bits mtk and loads a 4.4.4 kitkat android system.
But I saw threads discussing exactly this and a test about improving performances with the lollipop beta.

BTW It was just a talk, not a real request, so i'm not sure about the real possibility to get a working kitkat on the emax mini snapdragon.

My new mini is great - not 5,1 as advertised and promised and NOT completely multi-language, when will these be amended ? Hungarian is missing.  Post time 2015-11-11 20:56

anyway most languages are missing in the so called multi language environment - like Hungarian.
Any hope of an update in this decade ?
