Tetsuo1981's concern is with losing is TWRP.  20161121 is the only rom that works with the new scr ...

Firstly you need flash working ROM then flash different ROM but you need uncheck preloader and all should be working.
Other option is to swap in firmware folder system and recover partitions (and any other partition which you like) and then flash. Of course you can only do this in same version of system (Android version).

I installed the rom i wanted 1st and then i installed the preloader boot and i think system from the working rom.  When i did this i got a bootloop and i had to dismantle the phone and remove the battery and flash the working rom as i reconnected the battery to fix this.  Is that not the same thing you are talking about.   I will try it in the order you are saying ok. but i am still wondering is this not the same thing. i flashed 20161017 (desired rom) and then flashed preloader, boot, and system from 20161121(Working Rom)= bootloop
P.S.
since you have moderator status do you know why rom version 20161121 the latest android 6 doesn't allow you to boot into recovery

I just did what you said flash working rom and then flash desired rom uncheck preloader.  It did not work i have a black screen again.  The drivers are not in the preloader.  I need to load a rom that will allow me to enter recovery and still have the drivers for the new type screens.  which partition are the screen drivers in.  I thought that is what you said in your post.  Thanks now i have to reload everything again and take apart my phone all over just to unhook the battery.

The latest Android 6.0 firmware that was only to aloud system to update umi super to android 7.0 through to OTA.
Firmware folder is folder which contains whole ROM which you downloaded from ROM section to your computer.
TP driver is in system partition but preloader is contains partitions table and if you unchecked preloader then system will not update TP drivers.
So if you flash phone with working ROM and then you want change something you can flash with different ROM but you need uncheck preloader to save previous TP (working) drivers.
Now I just thinking that you talking about black screen so this is lcd drivers.
I would flash to latest working firmware (whole) and then flash only recovery partition from older ROMs.
Did you try use latest Android 7.0?

If you mix the latest android 6 firmware with any other rom( uncheck preloader)  Then the system will not allow you to boot into recovery it just reboots the phone and some just bootloop your phone i tried every one down the list.  This keeps me from using recovery all together much less using twrp.  My goal here is too obtain root all the apps i use require root.  No i have not tried the android 7 roms because i already have to charge my phone half way through work and the new roms are supposed to not fast charge so that is completly out of the question.  Not to mention the bluetooth killing the battery and disconnecting.  i leave my phone playing video for 8 hour streches at work.  I like your suggestions but it doesn't work the latest android 6 rom is the only one that is compatible with the screen replacement.

Ok
So you should use working ROM and then flash only recovery partition from here http://community.umidigi.com/thread-2962-1-1.html
Also you should try latest Android 7.0 as on some hardwares quick charging is working after flashing with SPFT and clearing cache and eMMC.
