Dead UMI Plus E after a week?

I just got this phone, figuring it was half decent from the reviews. Today, I was playing a quick game on it, Real Racing I believe. I don't really play games on phones, but I was killing time. I shut off the game and put the phone down, and when I turned it back on from sleep all I saw was white vertical grey lines on the black screen. These lines change if I plug in the phone to something like my computer, and the rest of the phone responds as normal (I think), as it shows I have messages, fingerprint button buzzes. What is wrong here? It is pretty sad that this phone has only lasted a week, and not a week of heavy use. It isn't exactly cheap or quick to ship it back to China. I was expecting more from this phone. I was not expecting the best phone out there, but something that would suit my needs.

Sorry for your inconvenience.
Please hold power button for more than 10 seconds. Phone should shut down.
Then try restart.
If fault still occur please contact to seller.
Of course you can try flash your phone with SPFT to latest available firmware.
To do this please follow this instruction but please skip 6th step as you need overwrite all partitions

Thank you, is there any chance the screen has malfunctioned, or is this something within the whole system?

Flashing did nothing at all, still same screen issue.
