UMI Z has no effect about the quality of the videos you download. Messenger like Viber,Whatsapp,Facebook etc. compresses videos/pictures to reduce filesize. Try to send the same video to a different device and check the video information details about resolution and bitrate and then compare it with the same video on your UMI Device.
