Huge problem with microphone when in calls

I just got this phone a few days ago and I must say: great build quality, good performance for the price point and very nice display. Unfortunately, I have a very bad problem with the microphone. It seems that when in phone calls/Skype/WhatsApp call, the microphone volume and quality is very low. People can barely hear me. I have tested it myself and I identified the issue very fast.

Is there a current fix for this? Can we flash another modem file from another MT6753 smartphone? When will Umi fix this via software update? The problem doesn't manifest when recording sound.

I am sorry to hear that you are having a low volume with your microphone during calls.

There have been a few other reports on this and I will escalate this issue to UMI.
