Until today I was very satisfied with the phone. However this morning all of the sudden it won`t hold a charge. Plugged in with its original cable and charger. I freaked out a bit then discovered that with any other charger other that the original UMI one the phone is charging just fine. Using Ampere ( a program that measures the incoming power in mA) I even noted that the original charger from My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 - works as good , if not better than the original charger. However I do not know if it is safe to use it with my Umi Plus E. Can someone advise me on that ? It is not like I have a choice anyway if I am to use my phone at all , but would like to know. Also where can one get a replacement for the original charger ( it is my understanding that it is not covered in the warranty )

I use my old ASUS 1A charger to save battery. I do not need to charge quick during night time. Be aware: More faster means more problems in latter with your battery.

Edited by skykid at 2017-2-10 03:18 \n\nThank you for the tips. I usually do not need fast charging - just reliable one. It was just so odd when the original charger stopped working out of nowhere

Physics is physics and you can not fool. :-) Really use your old slow motion charger. I used this for Zenfone 2 and after one year of using my battery condition is 100%. This means I used 365 time during year with no problem. The best way is using your computer USB port but this will take ages to charge to 100% because extremely low output power.

Thank you . Just checked charging from the PC it charges with about 20 % per hour which is not that bad. I also follow the general rules of thumb like charging to 81-82% and trying not to allow for a charge to drop less than 15 %. The battery of Umi Plus E is big enough in theory. As I explained I got scared because while plugged in the original charger no charge was coming trough and I thought the phone had issue - turned out it was one with the charger that died on me for whatever reason.
