I am sorry to hear that Drakhart.

I have a similar situation. The seller from aliexpress refused to refund me (and I only asked for a partial refund, because it's not easy to send item with battery from Australia to overseas), unfortunately aliexpress doesn't offer paypal. I'll escalate the dispute to aliexpress soon, so it's now up to aliexpress to uphold their reputation.

Edited by Blandroid at 2015-9-23 02:32 \n\nIf Google translate is accurate, what you appear to have done is flash an Umi Emax rom on your Umi Iron phone - is that correct?

That's probably about as bad as it gets.

Your only hope is to try and flash the correct rom via SP Flash Tool and make sure you have the MTK USB VCOM driver installed on your PC

The driver installation is easiest to do on Windows 7 PCs but you can install it on W8 and W10 provided that you know how to disable driver signature enforcement.

These processes are not difficult but you have to read everything you can and watch YouTube videos too.

Here's the best guide on the internet:

Here's an MTK USB VCOM tutorial with driver downloads at the bottom of the first post - different one for Windows 7 or Windows 8

UPDATE

My new phone was delivered today, updated to V1.6 and everything is okay so far:

1.  ExtSD working and recognised in both phone and on PC
2.  No bootlooping - have been able to reboot without any problems.
3.  Microphone tested (this wasn't a problem on my original phone but I understand that some have had problems in this regard) and everything's fine.

I'm going to put some music on it shortly to see how the headphones fare and I will update this post again to reflect my findings.

Good luck to everyone else who decided to stick with this phone and order another one.  I can honestly say that I'm glad I did

Hi, I just got an SD for my UMI Iron pro, which I'm using since almost two months ago, I place my SD for first time, phone on, and it got recognized, I move some files, but I reboot about an hour later and when it started, boom the SD card damaged error, I formated and it got recognized again, later I reboot it on purpose, and once again SD damaged but later try to format again and now it doesn't recognize it, could this be fix by an update or is it hardware problem ????

Edited by Blandroid at 2016-3-17 00:14 \n\nI never thought I'd ever have to revisit this thread but here I am, again - with the same problem but with the slightly different angle of having had my phone for months now.

I went abroad and wanted to use 2 sims in the phone so obviously had to remove my SD card to insert the 2nd sim. Since then, when I put my SD card back in the handset, the phone refuses to recognise it - it's as if the SD card isn't in the phone.  It happened first with the SD card that I removed - I kept getting error messages that it's damaged so I changed it to a brand new one and now I don't get any messages whatsoever.  The phone behaves as though the SD card isn't there.

I'm really disappointed.  It worked fine from new but now this has happened and I don't really know what to do.
