When I updated my Max with the SPFT tool, I had big difficulties in getting the update process started, although I had the drivers installed correctly. Then I found on this forum someone saying that he/she managed to start the process by pressing the power and volume up buttons together right after starting the download and connecting the phone to the PC. That did the trick also for me.


So, after you have loaded the scatter file to the SPFT tool and unchecked the Preloader, turn off your phone, click on the Download button on the SPFT tool, then connect your phone to your PC via USB cable and right after that press the power and volume up buttons simultaneously. I hope this works for you too and the update process starts.

Thank you a lot. I did the factory reset as you mentionned in another post and the ota update is working just fine now. Thank you again !!!

Can we please have a concentrated post with every step we have to take to get the OTA updates working? All the informations is scattered all over this thread in multiple posts and it could help everyone who is having this issue. Not everyone is tech savvy, as you sure know.
And I have to agree with Falcon146, is ridiculous we have to do all this to fix a problem that Umi created

Hi
You have two options.
1. Perform factory reset (settings - backup and reset - factory data reset) if you getting notification about FOTA update and follow instruction on screen. To check for FOTA you need to be connected to Internet and go to settings - about phone - wireless update - check for updates.
2. Use SPFT and emigrate to any ROM you want from here (of course we always recommending latest software). In each thread you will get SPFT, ROM and driver.
