My umi diamond does not dial... so it's a great device but it surely not is a phone (as of now)...
SMS usually go through, anybody calling me goes straight to voicemail, when I try dialing the sign on the top right goes from 4G to 3G and there is no tone.
I tried different sim cards, the two slots... nothing works. Sometimes it does dial for some reasons but most of the time it does not.

Funny enough, most of the time I do have data though...

Anybody with the same issue out there ?

cheers

Ok so after talking to the umi team, I flashed the rom and re-installed everything. It seemed to work a little better at first but as soon as I walked into a building, the reception stopped, the other side could  not hear me, data was gone and I could not receive phone calls.
also, whenever I could actually dial (not often) the handset was warning up BAD.. like really uncomfortable on the ear.
Banggood will reimburse me, I have sent it back a couple of days ago.

any comment from anyone ?

cheers
the question now, is that a fault on my specific device or is it a flaw in the deisgn of the phone (ie bad reception on 4G/3G) ? the device is exactly what I was looking for, but at this point I put the sim card back into my nokia 735 and there is no problem, I can actually use a phone as it is intended to be used : make phone calls ! (and everywhere, even in a low basement garage)

Dude, I had this problem, I changed the preference from 4g to 3g and the calls came back, I think it's a problem when the 4g option is selected as the preferred network.
