It took a while, till I had time for this. I'm sorry for the long time to my answer.
Here are the results (did it 2 twimes with shopping inbetween):



I've watched this test app during driving. Most of the time I had connection to 7 satelites. Sometimes it dropped to 6. One single time it raised to 8. The tour took around 15 Minutes.

Note:

I've had these other smartphones in use within the same phone holder in the same car while driving the same route as in the video shown:

- Samsung Omnia 7 (Windows Phone)
- Motolola Defy (Android)
- iPhone 4 (iOS)
- iPhone 6 (iOS) -> my current phone

I've never had issues with any of them. To compare, a video of my current own smartphone:

To me it was the same thing, I constantly lost the position, after trying dozens of app I had no choice but to routed the phone. Once routed there are several app to change the European satellite data download server (FasterGPS ....)
