Dear Users,

It's not about UMi's decision and efforts but about the support of Google and MediaTek. ...

I read somewhere that MTK6752 is already supported... so hopefully the same will happen to 6753... or not!

Hi,
Could you tell me please, where did you read it? Unlike the MT6753 SoC, the MT6752 hasn't even got the Marshmallow support.

@MIXTERek

You know... source code is not the UMI's job. Mediatek releases the kernel. You cannot go further without the non free kernel of Mediatek.

Afterwards, the actual ROM is NOT made by UMI, nor the phone, you have to ask TCL for the manufacturing and the ROM.

You can see UMI as a retailer. They DESIGN the phone, pledge TCL they will buy them 50k phones, TCL makes a discount because of the number of phones manufactured.

Afterwards, UMI has to sell it.

That's the reason there are so much "presales" and the reason why UMI's phone are cheaper.

They'll be a custom ROM, I can try to port the custom ROM from the Jiayu S3 Plus to the UMi Touch.
