How do you unlock the bootloader?!!!!

HELP ME Please!

I just received my Umi Touch.  

I am happy with the look, feel, and speed.  

My issue: I have rooted all my previous smartphones andcreated personalized products that do NOT make me want to hit with a sledgehammer.

Rootjoy, the installation of custom roms, and nearly anythingof note are useless without being rooted.

I've spent way too much time exploring these forums to noavail.

I would really like to use this product.

HOW DO YOU UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER?

Please I don't want to send this 'phone' back to the companyin pieces.

Hi,

First of all, any MTK processor based android phones don't need to unlock their bootloader to root them.
You can find a tutorial with resources here to root your phone.

I regret to tell you but the UMi Touch or any other later UMi models are not supported by Rootjoy. Rootjoy is a discontinued project. You can find custom ROMs here or on needrom.com but such ROMs are not provided by UMi anymore.

Thanks for responding to my post.  Unfortunately I will not be needing to do anything with this terribly defective device because the battery has swollen, popping out the screen and leaving me with a useless as well as dangerous lithium paperweight.  And the kicker - neither UMI nor the 'authorized" distributor I purchased it from will honor my refund request.  
Considering no one will support the products produced by this company, I will take this as an expensive learning experience and STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.

And I will be sure to link my experience EVERYWHERE I can.
