Edited by danilx at 2016-6-26 08:28 \n\nNo comment. I would like to know a reference (link) where that information about the soc is addresses. A similar problem occurs on S7.[size=40.8106px]https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/youtube/SnUZLroxZOM

Dear danilx,

Here's the reference page of MediaTek Helio P10:
http://mediatek-helio.com/p10/
"Video Decode: 1080p 30fps H.264/265"
Nevertheless, 1080p@60fps videos should be played back at 1080p but with 30fps. The YouTube app often have difficulties at identifying the playback device, that can cause such unwanted limitations. We can expect from the developer of the YouTube app to resolve such issues.

Regards,
Bence

Dear danilx,

Here's the reference page of MediaTek Helio P10:

Thanks a lot. Only you could clarify the situation. I found this video 1080p @60 fps and it plays correctly so I confirm the issue. It is a fault of YouTube.
Thanks again

Dear danilx,

Here's the reference page of MediaTek Helio P10:

Slightly confused with this as, the webpage provided does state the p10 is capable of full hd display at 60fps.
Then in the details below quite contradictory may i add the decode and encode is limited to 30fps.

I did manage to play through the chrome browser a video at 60fps ( but there were some issues like sound and video being delayed)

Overall the YouTube app will not play or detect like you mention - strange limitation in todays technology.

The 60fps value on the reference page is about the screen refresh rate (that can be notable at game playing), not about the video playback capabilities. If you play youtube (or any) videos in browser, they'll be software decoded, therefore with possible issues.

Sorry to bother guys, this seems to be a related thread about youtube playback , i also have a YouTube playback problem would some one of you help me fix it or give me a solution? When I try downloading YouTube videos with VLC it say vlc is unable to open the mrl. I don't know why and in this article (http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/vlc-unable-mrl.html) as you can see, it mentions I have to try a media format converter to fix it. But i do not really hope to convert video formats since YouTube is in MP4 which has the best compatibility . Can you guys have other ways which can fix the playback error?

Edited by Wooley4766 at 2017-10-20 20:40 \n\nIt plays here perfectly in Lithuania Airport... Wifi..
No problem with the  chipset... You cannot download from YouTube like on other sites. This has to do with ownership rights.
All videos in this thread play in vlc or chrome. Since i do not have YouTube app i cannot test if the app has a limitation. In the past there was a problem with the flash player on Android all phones couldn't play on full hd.. But since most pages are nit with the old flash but html all works ciao
