Edited by alvaroav at 2016-6-9 16:40 \n\nDear all,

Yesterday I received my new UMI Super. It is really surprising and a very good quality product.
The only problem I got till now, is with the whatsapp application. Once I open it, I am able to send/receive messages, but after switching to other apps, it is not sending/receiving messages anymore. I open it again, and when I tried to send a message, it is queued with the typical watch icon (like when you have no data coverage on the cellular), and I need to "close" from the running tasks and reopen it again to send and receive messages.

I have looked over the internet for advises or similar issues, and the only thing I found is the one related to the Doze energy optimization tool in Android 6. I turn off the energy optimization for the whatsapp, but without any success.

Is it anyone experiencing the same?

I have the latest FOTA update from 08/06/2016

Thanks
BR

Try disabling background task clear in setting or add Whatsapp to White list. This has resolved the issue I was having with Whatsapp. If they share the damn changelog we would know what changes they have made and this will assist in troubleshooting.

Yes!! Thanks bannie, it seems that this solution works fine. I tested it for 30 minutes, and whatsapp is working correctly.

Thanks, and lets hope that UMI developers solve this issue for next FOTA. Now we know that is interrumping whatsapp, but maybe other apps are disturbed.

Thanks again!

Agreed Bannie. We really need UMI to be more transparent from now on and also share the changelogs with all their future OTA updates.

Hi gessi,

Go to  settings --> Samrt Assistant section --> Background Task clear

UMI has posted major changes from the OTA, and number 4 is:

Battery life is felt like never ended!
UMi Super packed with 4000mAh SONY battery and partner PE+ fast charging. With the latest software update, battery life is going even longer with auto cleaning system to optimize every power you use.

This seems to affect Whatsapp (and maybe others) and therefore, the solution reported by bannie probably will be mandatory for everyone.

Thanks and BR

Hello,

Today I had issues with whatsapp web and the UMI Super.

Problem description:
When typing in Whatsapp Web, the text was not sent as soon as the mobile phone display is getting off.

Go to  settings --> Samrt Assistant section --> Background Task clear
Background task clear was already turned off, so this is not the solution

Solution:
In my case I had to turn on "Background Task clear" and explicite whitelist the applications like whatsapp.

After that everything runs as expected
