Magnetic field sensor

I use hardware info and detected UMI Touch has magnetic field sensor but why compass app not working ?

I have similar case and compared with my old LG smartphone. The latter (in exactly the same location) shows magnetic field and proper compass indications (using Compass 360 Pro) but the UMI Touch does not show magnetic field and also the compass does not work. Yes, location is "on". I do not see what else should be "on". Also GPS is working but seems a bit insensitive. I guess both things have nothing to do with each other though. So - is the magnetic sensor broken or is this a software / firmware issue ?

Thanks. You are correct. I had simply assumed TOO MUCH.  Pity though....

very stange that using hardware info app show magnetic sensor
