is it normal that the emax mini feels really warm during normal use?  with facebook, whatsapp etc. and is it me or the screen feels a little unresponsive sometimes

I don't know about normal but Qualcom CPUs are know for overheating problems. My emax mini was heating up as well. I soved it by installing "no frill CPU controll" and setting the governor to powesave. (other option of this app don't seem to work with this phone/OS version).
You need root access for that.
