I think it comes that the chip can make a 4K video output stream, but does not have the ability to d ...

Interesting that the product brief says one thing and the MediaTek website says another. https://www.mediatek.com/products/smartphones/mediatek-helio-p60

My last Phone had a Snapdragon 801 while a few generations behind benefitting from H.265 encoding it put out some pretty good 4k footage.

It was a feature added to that phone as an update to the original but first came about via the XDA forums perhaps someone will hack a solution to it. On this one, I would point the finger at MediaTek as it is clear from what I see on their website that they have put out contradictory information about the capability of their chipset. I am sure this is as frustrating for the development team at UMIDIGI as it is for us as users.

I've been looking forward to this phone since it was announced earlier on in the year. After upgrading my wife's phone to the Z2, and waiting a bit until a good sale came along, I finally upgraded my OnePlus 3T to the Z2 Pro.
Now I find out that, for whatever reason, 4k video capture isn't enabled.
That's a bit of a let down, if I must say.
I hope some firmware update in the future enables it. IIRC, the processor and the cameras both support 4k capture, so it would be nice.
