If you officially recomend to use SPFT instead of buildin updater, then this is a company problem. Not the user one. Software must be updated. Using device with outdated and volnurable software is not an option. If you provide unsafe update method, then it is YOUR fault. If you provide no update method, then it is double so.

They absolutely are. Unless you're using official image, there's no any problem with manipulating devices. None of the mentioned producers would even ask you what did you do with your phone, if there's no visual damage. The warranty policy never says "will void", it says "may void" which isn't the same.
