Well....you will have to
Just to be complete...for others who live in the UK:
BT uses the 2600MHz band through their subsidiary Niche Spectrum Ventures. It also has a MVNO (roaming) deal with EE. On top of that it is likely that by March 2016 OFCOM will give the go-ahead for the sale of EE to BT.
O2 uses the 800MHz band and thus the Iron Pro will not work on that network. This also means that Tesco Mobile will not work as it uses the O2 network.
Three (3) uses the 800MHz band but is also has a roaming agreement with EE to use 1800MHz.
Vodafone uses 800MHZ but it also has a license to operate in the 2600MHZ band. I do not know if they already do this so I cannot be certain if this will work or not.
EE uses both 800Mhz and 2600MHZ. As far as I know they use 2600MHz for the majority of their services and is the use of 800MHz only planned for future use. Asda, Co-op and Virgin use the EE network for their services. I am not sure if the MVNO deal with Virgin will continue after BT has acquired EE. Currently EE's backbone (the connections between the individual base stations) runs over Virgin's fibre network and that is tied into the deal of Virgin Mobile as a MVNO on EE's network. So if you are currently on Virgin then be mindful about this as it is possible that Virgin will move to O2 in which case you might lose your 4G ability.
For other MVNO providers I advise you check their respective websites for further information.
That's all folks...
The short version is that your UMI mobile will work on many of the mobile and MVNO operator's networks (EE, BT, Asda, Three). |
