Hey y'all,
I've been researching the upcoming Umidigi Crystal for the past couple hours and I cannot figure out whether or not it will work with 3g on AT&T in the United States.
As seen here, the phone supports bands 2 and 5 (1900 and 850mhz, respectively.) However, what confuses me is that the website lists these bands under GSM and has a separate section for WCMDA, which it lists as requiring bands 8 and 1 (900 and 2100mhz.)
I was under the impression that WCDMA is a type of GSM technology. FrequncyCheck lists bands 2 and 5 as UMTS, which is the same as WCDMA, for all intents and purposes, correct? So, why are these bands listed as GSM while bands 8 and 1 are listed as 3g/WCDMA? If the Umidigi Crystal supports GSM bands 2 and 5, will I be able to at least get HSPA+ speeds on it?
Sorry for how wordy this is; I wanted to be as thorough as possible. Thanks for any insight you can provide! |
