Alarm clock does not ring

Use Alarm Clock Plus. Old but very reliable and feature-rich app without android 6/7 compatibility issues. I'm using a Z Pro as my daily driver since its release date (except one week when I was using a C Note) and have never had such issues. The current (official) Android 7.1.1 ROM is stable.

I'm still on Android 6 because I've seen here in the community too many negative reports on Android 7.
Okay, this is not really meaningful because here the users actually write only if they have problems.
The users report much too rare about positive.

Yes, all sounds are in folders on the internal storage.
(Alarms, Notifications & Ringtones)

I have the sane problem in older version 6.0 and i move my alarm tones from SD to Internal storage and it work well... now with the 7.1.1 i think that i have no problem.

this morning my alarm dont ring like i have programed...
my forlder alarms where in the same place with tne same files and the alarm clock dont see the tone files... i move the folder to SD card and they appear... now i will move it back to internal storage

Why does this error occur only once in a while?
