Umidigi doesn't see issues with OTA, OTA zip files or flashing devices with original firmwares. But as seller is taking warranty responsibility you need read seller roles.
Of course we recommending using SPFT ony for advanced users.
We don't have such issues on testing devices so we can't provide different solution to you.

Maybe Umi should do an UPDATE to Android 4.1.
Maybe they are able to get this System running.

I am sorry but if you don't face such issues on the test devices you'll need a  better testing team. Not blame the customers and tell them to reset the phone. Or downgrade to 6.x. release the soudce code. Or drop a working update please.

If the stand is to base your findings on test pieces, then sell the phone within your staff..
You have world wide users but maintaining a frog in the well perspective.. By trying to keep up with the Joneses in terms of hardware, you'll need a strong back room team... I'm not impressed with the models Umidigi is pushing out after the Z Pro..

I thought I'd spend my last dollar on a phone with promise _ the Z Pro... Now I regret..NFC was my deal breaker but I felt I trade that off since the price for the hard ware was good.. Bugs there'll be but if there's support, that would make the brand stand out.

Having decided to use the X27, why the Z1 Pro has rolled back albeit with a higher capacity battery? X27 boo booed?

Honestly, I'll never look at another phone with MTK because of the SoC being incapable of reading xFAT cards (as stated by @Bencebasi) in one of the posts.

I'll probably take @Bencebasi's advice to sell this phone even though I've not complained much.. Just bearing with it...

Now the simprocessor issue is appearing on my phone out of the blue.. Ok.. The engineers are aware of the SIM handling problem..I wait out..

Want to go on the world stage? Need to be world class.. That doesn't happen overnight....

For Me, what disappoints me is the refusal of the staff to really listen customer problems:
20 people say: "the 4g that does not connect after a wifi connection". Reply of umidigi: "our testers say it's ok, no bug". But your testers really works? The users are not incapable or stupid, and if advanced users say that there are bugs, so there are. It is too easy to say: our testers see nothing, if you hire blind people.
I agree with chooks : going to world with good repute need to work very harder in the Product reliability and in listening to customers (Even samsung backs up and fixes its roms in case of problem). It's the only secret !
