Hi,

Could somebody give detailed steps on how to update from a rooted umi z pro on 6.0.1  to 7.1.1 using the ota?
My phone is rooted and it has twrp installed.

I would like to keep the personal data on the phone and have twrp and root on the updated phone in the end.

This would be a big help.

If you do not misunderstand, I think you can not.
You should flash ROM Stock 6.0 by FlashTool and there you will get the update via OTA ..

If for some reason you can, very sure that you will have some errors (In case you update with your phone taking TWRP and ROOT)

I myself post in another thread, if possible have ROOT and TWRP already updated to Android 7.1.1 by OTA.
Or if you have to go back to Android Stock 6.0 by FlashTool and then blinking the Android ROM 7.1.1 with the TWRP and then ROOT.

I am currently on android 6.0 ver. 2017408 rooted with twrp.
I want to have th official android 7.1. ...

1 - You have to remove the TWRP and ROOT
2 - For that you have to flash ROM Stock 6.0 (04/08) without installing the TWRP
3 - After that update via OTA
4 - There are doubts about installing TWRP and ROOT on Android 7.1.1 because some users gave us an error .. so I told you earlier that I made a thread to ask about this topic.
5 - It's supposed to be the same steps as when installing TWRP and ROOT on Android 6.0 than when you do it on Android 7.1.1

I leave you the links of all the information:

You shout use SPFT and flash directly to Android 7. There is no point flashing to android 6 and then using OTA update.
After this you can try flash custom recovery and then root phone with this instruction.

Edited by PhilK at 2017-6-9 13:37 \n\nMine was running 6 TWRP'd and rooted.
I downloaded the full OTA zip file from the website. Copied it to phone memory and used the manual install option in the Wireless Update app. It did the upgrade fine, retained all apps/data and fingerprint data, but it unrooted.
I used latest SPFlashTool and downloaded the latest ROM image for the scatter file, and latest SU, repeated the rooting process with the updated versions. All good.

I had problems with nougat and root.
Here is how i fixed everything:
1)copy your imeis in case of losing them while flashing
2)install android 6 without twrp and super user
3)update
4)place in the phone super user
5)install twrp
6)at the first reboot install immediately superuser or it will start looping
7)you are good to go

Hello all !
For me i have just download the OTA update, move it in my internal memory, go to OTA application and launch the manual opdate.
I have pointed to the file in memory and launched the update.
The phone reboot and TWRP start in automatic update script.
the phone restart one more time and version of android is on 7.1.1 with all my data and contact and app.
After that, I download the genuine full ROM on 7.1.1, and decompress it.
With SPFLASH TOOLS, i point into the scatter file of this rom and point the img of twrp for the recovery adress (Uncheck all other images and adress)
One click on "download" and one reboot later, the TWRP is on the phone.
I go to TWRP and install SuperSU.zip with NO Dalvik cache clear. (To have all my app)
After the last reboot, the phone is on android 7.1.1 with TWRP and the phone is Rooted (tested with the righ app)

Great !
