Umi Iron Wifi problems

At least - the UMi DEV team acknowledged the problem and indicated that it's being tackled with.
So... We wait and we wonder.

hello, I have a big problem with wifi, connecting first, then log off, if for esepio use google play, no charge says no signal, and disconnecting ... I have a umi iron ..with rom 1.6 ... I tried also reset..ma nothing

I have the newest rom and the same problem with Umi Iron Pro.

I have this issue too.
I have 3 routers in the house all with the same SSID but different channels.
when I move beteen them with my UMI Hammer S, all is OK but with the iron pro, the internal connections stay working (192.168 network) but my external Internet fails until I restart the wifi.

No idea what the issue is but it only happens after a period of time (like about 20 minutes)

I have the newest rom (V3.02) and I even tried the newly release WP rom.....same issue.

\n\nI have the same problem. Umi iron pro with 3.02 firmware. The wifi signal is strong, wifi status shows connected but there is no internet connection. I thing it happens more often when the connection is actually being used, like for example when I watch some videos on youtube, it suddenly shows connection error and I have to reenable the wifi manually. Sometimes it is hard to watch 5 min video without couple of interruptions.

The antennas problems with Umi is commom to all versions, included GPS, 4G and WI FI. The problem is very simple to solve. The problem is that the WI fi , 4G and GPL antennas that are on the internal mother board plastic cover inside Umi, are not enought pulled up to touch on the other part of the Umi specific hardware in motherboard once you close this plastic cover. Solution is open it and pull up a little bit each of this pieces of metal atachhed to the motherboard antennas plastic cover.

May be Umi factory employees are not real Umi employees, they are sub contracted factorys to lower the production prices at Umi levels. And you know this guys maybe give bonus if an employee surpass a certain productivity, and they dont bother to loose time pulling up a little bit more each antenns because it will take more time... ;0(

You need to remove 1st cover, then this cover and you will see pieces of metal that are not enought up to touch the hardware connections of wi fi, 4g and Gps in the mother board, so once you close this cover you will see this pieces of metal dont touch it or stay only very close to it.

With an precision knife like X-act or other you need to pull this pieces of metal a little up on a way that they touch the hardware once you close it.

After this my GPs started worked more faster and accuratly then ever and 4G internet speed and ping goes to the roof . Amazing !

I have the same wifi problem on my UMI IRON.

There is already a solution for this problem?
