It's has been stated that MTK SoCs can't handle ExFAT volumes.

Total Commander is capable of performing read/write to OTG Flash Drives in exFAT format.

I used to avoid TC as I don't find the interface very user friendly. I now have to learn it.

Hope this helps those who are stuck having to reformat their USB sticks when they actually want to copy files over from that stick to the phone.

How to read OTG ExFAT volumes on Z Pro

It has been stated that MTK SoCs can't handle ExFAT volumes.

Total Commander with the Paragon exFat NTFS plug in {paid plugin, Trial period available} is capable of performing read/write to OTG Flash Drives in exFAT format as well as NTFS.
With NTFS capability, it makes the Z Pro capable of reading even my 2TB HDD.

The downside of the plug in is for each format, it's separately priced, although they provide a special price for all 4 formats.

I used to avoid TC as I don't find the interface very user friendly. I now have to learn it.

Hope this helps those who are stuck having to reformat their USB sticks when they actually want to copy files over from that stick to the phone.
