Even though I restricted mobile data usage whereever the settings allow it "Android OS" is using each month very much data, also on the mobile data Internet connection. I even installed NetGuard and prohibited mobile data on each and every system app (except for Chrome), but it seems that some system components can bypass the normal internet connection (as NetGuard wouldn't allow any system app that is not on my whitelist to use this commection).
"Android OS" consists of FotaProvider and other system apps like Factory Test, Common Data Service, My Hosts MTK Thermal Manager etc. Each and every of these apps are blocked by NetGuard, which is on all the time. How is it possible that these system apps are still using mobile data, and more than that: they are using excessive amounts of mobile data? (from 20 MB up to 50 MB per month!)
For me it seems as if some of these "Android OS"-apps are using the mobile data connection illegimitely. Notably "FotaProvider" has a history of having spyware-functions integrated. 50 MB of data on mobile internet connection is definitely suspicious, espectially when these apps are prohibited to use the mobile connection by NetGuard at all! Or does anyone here have an explanation for this? How much mobile data per month is using "Android OS" on your phones? |
